Call For Papers

Scope

In a natural evolution to different Internet embodiments, the notion of Tactile Internet is emerging, which is envisioned to transport touch and actuation in real-time. The Tactile Internet will provide a true paradigm shift from content-delivery to real-time interactive and skill-set delivery networks, thereby revolutionizing every segment of the society. Some of the most exciting Tactile Internet application areas include industrial remote operation, remote diagnostics and surgery, remote education and training, networked control systems, immersive entertainment, remote driving, etc. The 5G mobile communications networks will play a critical role in realizing the Tactile Internet through ultra-reliable, ultra-responsive, and intelligent connectivity.

To this end, the 5G TACNET workshop cordially invites researchers to share latest research insights and present key and emerging results on the Tactile Internet enablers, including novel networking protocols, wireless techniques, new hardware designs, and novel data processing methods. Technical papers describing recent research results and controversial but substantiated opinions that may influence the direction of future research and development are solicited.
